Ronin did photograph our wedding and engagement pictures. I had started talking to Ronin about this time last year when I was looking for my photographer. One big thing that I was looking for with the service was a photographer that was available for the entire day of my wedding, however didn't charge by the hour. This really limited my choices, but Ronin was one photographer that offered this. Ronin sent me his pricing list and my breath was taken away. I (and my parents) was unaware that photographers could cost this much. I decided to take a chance and wait a few weeks before booking. There were many of the local bridal shows coming up (including Super Bride Sunday) and I wanted to do a little shopping. Ronin actually had a booth at Super Bride Sunday so I was able to talk to him again there and meet him in person (which also helped in my decision). I ended up giving him my deposit and booking my date at SBS.
After booking him, we met to discuss what kind of package I wanted to do and what services I was looking for. I knew that we needed Engagement pictures also. We ended up choosing his middle package to start with which included an engagement session. We chose a Saturday afternoon in May and he did a wonderful job. I'm sure he has told you he does everything on location. He photographed ours in Downtown Evansville and then we finished at Burdette Park. I was very pleased with the final pictures. He takes many photos so in my opinion you are guaranteed to have something you love. Or if you are like me - I spent many days trying to narrow down my choices to a reasonable amount to put in our Engagement Album. To give you some numbers, with our engagement session he took a little over 400 pictures and it took us about 3 hours. There were so many great ones to choose from but we ended up working together and I now have a beautiful album of that day.
On to the wedding day. As I told you, I was looking for someone that could be there the whole day. I had planned for me and my bridesmaids to all get our hair done together at the same salon. I wanted him to be there to get snapshots of that and then stay with us from there. He showed up at the salon at 9 and stayed with us for a little over an hour catching snapshots of us getting our hair done. He then moved on to the church to do the same thing with the guys. He does a great job with catching unplanned moments that make for a great album. Him and his assistant were around the entire time that we got dressed and ready - for me and my husband. We had decided a time to start the formal pictures in the church and everything went smoothly with that. Once again, Ronin takes many pictures and you will have more than you can imagine to choose from. He does many different poses and is open to any ideas that you may have or want. Like he always told me, "I work for you, you just tell me what you want." That gave me great comfort. During the ceremony I don't remember seeing him once or have I had anybody tell me afterwards that he was ever in the way. It actually makes me wonder how he was able to get some of the shots he did!! After the ceremony (since we decided to not see each other before) we finished up with our formal photographs and then we were on our way.
We had rented a limo to take the entire wedding party from the church to the reception, with one stop along the way. Ronin got photos of us getting into the limo and even a few of us inside. He then went with us to our party stop and photographed us there for a few minutes before leaving for the ceremony. He wanted to beat us there so he could get pictures of us arriving. Upon arrival at the reception, we took a few more photographs of the wedding party outside on a gazebo (thankful I had a beautiful day) and then we lined up for the grand entrance. Ronin was able to get shots of everybody entering and again some wonderful candid shots. He stayed through all the toasts, first dances, cake cutting, bouquet/garter toss, etc. Once all that formal things were complete, he made sure to come ask us if there was anything else we wanted pictures of before he left. At this point, we were ready to just cut loose so he was able to leave.
Shortly after the wedding Ronin had our pictures posted for us to view. Once again, the number of photos was incredible. He took almost 1000 photos for us to look at. Luckily, for our wedding album, Ronin did all the work. He put together the best proof of a wedding album I have ever seen. We spent a number of weeks after that making a few changes/additions of things I wanted as well as suggestions from him along the way, but the final product is just amazing. Everybody that I have showed it to is incredibly impressed with it. They have never seen a wedding album look so great! I have received nothing but compliments on it all.
After looking back at everything, I was very happy we chose to go with Ronin. My parents were a little taken by the amount of money that it cost, but after seeing the results and the amount of photos that we had to choose from, they were not bothered at all by it. He captured the whole day and those are memories that I never want to forget.
